Exhibitions and Fairs in Ancona

Ancona, an important port and exhibition center on the Mediterranean, is one of the major shipyards of Fincantieri. And what is more, the sheds by the sea are the place where the Ferretti Group create their amazing luxury yachts. Daily, from the port of the city depart dozens of trade ships and ferries to Albania, Croatia, Greece, Montenegro and Turkey.

Tourism and Ancona Exhibition Center (which hosts more than 30 events per year) are a major source of income for the city’s economy. The bay that overlooks Ancona is known as one of the best natural barriers of the Mediterranean. In 290 BC, the Greeks founding the city, compared the shape of the promontory that juts into the sea to that of an 'elbow': that’s where the name comes from, as Αγκών (ankon) is the Greek for 'elbow'.
