The capital of Saxony, but the second largest city of the Land after Leipzig, Dresden is a beautiful city on the Elbe River. Dresden is called Silicon Saxony for the presence of firms active in the area of biotechnology, engineering, aerospace and microelectronics. Since 2009, the city’s exhibition center, Messe Dresden, also hosts a conference center that can accommodate over 10 thousand people.

How to reach Dresden

Dresden, about 20 km away from the border with the Czech Republic, is reachable via motorway A4 from Cologne and Erfurt, and A13 towards Dresden and Berlin. Dresden International Airport, less than 10 km away from the city centre, is located near the European route E40, which connects the English Channel with... China. The city is served by 4 lines of the S-Bahn, the suburban railway system, and several lines of the tram network. Messe Dresden can be reached from the central station by bus n.75.
