Exhibitions and Fairs in Düsseldorf

Located 40 km north of Cologne, Düsseldorf is a major financial and industrial center, home to many large corporations: Metro AG, Henkel, Rheinmetall, etc. But Düsseldorf is mainly an exhibition and conference center of international importance: Messe Düsseldorf, in Messeplatz, north of the city centre, hosts over 40 events a year with an attendance of 1.7 million visitors.

How to reach Düsseldorf and Messe Düsseldorf

Dusseldorf Airport, Flughafen Düsseldorf International, handles a traffic of more than 18 million passengers a year. It is located 6 km away from the city centre, to which it is connected by bus, train and taxi. The train station inside the airport has a passenger traffic volume slightly lower than that of the main station, Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof: the two terminals are connected by Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn lines 1 and 6. Messe Düsseldorf can be reached by S-Bahn trains, U-Bahn - lines 78 and 79, and bus n.722.

Where to stay in Düsseldorf

Business hotels in Düsseldorf are located in the area north of the historical centre, near the airport and the fairgrounds. In the historical centre, in addition to 4-and 5-star hotels, cheaper lodging options are also available. Düsseldorf, as well as being an important industrial center and exhibition center, is also considered the German city of fashion. During the fashion week in September and February, many hotels in central Düsseldorf are popular with designers and models.

Hot spots in Düsseldorf for the after-show

Düsseldorf's nightlife has nothing to envy to that of other large German cities, including Berlin. Locals call it Altstadtbummel, and it's the evening habit of pouring into the old town, the Altstadt, enclosed between Königsallee and the Rhine, which hosts clubs, restaurants and more than 200 beer gardens on an area of little more than 8 square kilometers. Düsseldorf's most famous venues are the beer garden Bräuerei Schumacher, in Oststrasse; two nightclubs named Stahlwerk and Tor 3 facing each other on Ronsdorfer Strasse; Uerige, on Bergerstrasse - one of the most famous pubs in the old city; Anaconda Bar, on Andreasstrasse, which offers house and jazz music in a 70s-style atmosphere; the legendary 3001, on Franziusstrasse, a huge nightclub featuring tech-house music; La Rocca, on Gruenstrasse, one of the trendiest spots in the city, with several dance floors and music ranging from funk to disco: also open for afternoon tea dance.
