Exhibitions and Fairs in Saarbrücken
Saarbrücken, the regional capital of Saarland, is an important cultural, university and business center situated on the border with France: the city of Metz, in Lorraine, is about 20 km away. Saarbrücken Fair, Saarmesse, is an important trade fair spread over a covered area of 50 thousand square meters, and mainly hosts events related to manufacturing and construction products.
How to reach Saarbrücken and Saarmesse
Saarbrücken is reachable via the A1 motorway from Lübeck, and the A6 from Nuremberg. The city is served by the Saarbrücken-Ensheim airport. The Saarland has its own tramway network called Metro Saarbahn, which crosses many small towns in the region and of course, even Saarbrücken. Saarbrücken Fair, Saarmesse, is located 1 km west from the city centre and is within walking distance from Gersweilerstrasse. From Central Station, Saarbrücken Hauptbahnhof, you can catch buses to/from the Fair.
Where to sleep in Saarbrücken
Saarbrücken is at the center of an industrial conglomerate that includes a large coal basin, steel plants, building materials industries, companies specialized in the production of ceramics, glasses and optical instruments. Therefore, business tourism is a great resource for the city. Hotels in the centre of Saarbrücken and those near the train station, ensure a qualified welcome to an international clientele. Nevertheless, both the 4 star Top Hotel La Residence, very close to the fair, and the 4 star Mercure Hotel Saarbrücken City, near the train station, are very cheap.
